Lake Charles City Council Meeting 2/15/23

The crowd was small for the last meeting before Mardi Gras. The city obtained authorization for a couple of bond issues and purchased some land.

The council’s legislative audit showed that Westlake was the victim of a hack which cost the city $64,000.

The police jury meeting focused on proposed demolitions.

The council voted on 15 issues, ranging from property demolition to the restoration of the Dequincy Railroad Museum.

A member of the public brought flooding issues to the council’s attention.

A smaller council operated as a quorum as Mayor Danahay issued a proclamation for Cynthia Beverly Day.

The meeting featured a presentation by Sasol North America about the company’s work in the area and their plans for future development.
