June 1 is the official start of hurricane season, and we’re launching a campaign to raise $10,000 this month to support our community-led disaster reporting. Our intentional and meaningful journalism—public service stories, printed brochures and flyers, workshops where folks are paid for their expertise, and trainings to track local disaster and emergency-related budgets and processes—is resource-intensive, expensive, and time-consuming.
